Exceptional Kits for La Vuelta Espana 2020 from Santini

La Vuelta in 2020 is not going to look like any previous edition of the word’s most beautiful Grand Tour, but still promises to be the most exciting spectacle in cycling this season. We've stocked some of Santini's excellent signature kits for this tour along with the leader's jerseys.

The Design
The 2020 Vuelta inspired Santini to create cycling kits that celebrate both the toughness of the race and the beauty and history of Spain. The brand started by selecting the best-in-class fabrics to build body-hugging, technical, race-ready garments. The Italian cycle wear makers then put the canvas of those kits in the hands of their design team, led by cycling’s most thoughtful designer and storyteller, Fergus Niland. The result is another beautiful collection of leader’s jerseys and inspirational commemorative kits that reflect the race we all love so much, and the people and places that serve as its backdrop.

* Note on the Short Sleeve Jersey Sizing *
The race jerseys (Leader, Sprint, Young Rider, and KOM) are all a more relaxed Classic cut, whereas the stage jerseys (Cero, Pamplona, Angliru, and Tourmalet) are a semi-fitted Rider Slim Fit Cut. For instance, those who wear a Large Classic Cut jersey, it is a good rule of thumb to size up in the Rider Slim Fit and order an X-Large Jersey. Please be sure to check the measurements in the product listing and find more information about Santini sizing here.

Kilometro Cero

To celebrate the finish of the 2020 La Vuelta which will arrive into Madrid, Santini designed a jersey dedicated to the famous Kilometro Cero monument in the Puerta del Sol in central Madrid. The red and yellow colours represent the hues of a sunset over the Spanish capital while the word mark Km Cero is inspired by the origin of all the roads of Spain originating from the square.

Col du Tourmalet

This will be the first time a Vuelta stage concludes on the summit of the Col du Tourmalet. One of the most iconic climbs in world cycling. The finish on the summit will be the highest climb of La Vuelta in 2020, peaking at 2115 meters with the logo on the rear pocket of the jersey highlighting this fact. Additionally the yellow base color the design is a reference to the climbs in the Tour de France; then on the chest of Santini created a mountain motif formed from the letters of the word Col du Tourmalet.

Alto de L’Angliru

Stage 12 of the Vuelta is packed full of climbs, the final of which takes the peloton up the fearsome climb of Alto de L’Angliru. This stage jersey is dedicated to the reputation of this renowned ascent, with flames and pitchforks
on a hellish red background.

Pamplona

This kit is dedicated to the stage that will start from the famous Basque town of Pamplona, home of the St. Fermin fiesta (The Running of The Bulls). To honor the participant of the fiesta, Santini designed a simple logo that incorporates the head of a bull with a sprocket from a cogset as a nose ring. A red triangle represents the scarf worn by the men and women who run the course. The word Pamplona is drawn with the shape of the traditional red sash worn by the participants of the San Fermin bull-run.
