Sizing & Fit
Cento Cycling is a provider of premium cycling apparel, staffed with experts in sizing and fit for serious and casual cyclists. Since we work with leading brands from several countries, sizing overseas can be difficult for consumers to navigate. We’re here to help.
On this page, we’ll focus on sharing details on fit and sizing for cyclists considering apparel items from our affiliated brands. However, know that we’re only a click or call away from assistance, so feel free to connect with us on your fit questions.
Cycling Apparel Fit
Cycling apparel is unique in that the cyclist requires comfort in the garment for extended periods of time of active use. Like the bicycles themselves, garments must be matched with the rider for optimal comfort and enjoyment while cycling. Rider chest and shoulder widths are as important to a proper jersey fit as saddle height and bar stem length are to position on the bicycle. Overall, road cycling apparel is designed to fit correctly when you are in a "tuck" position (i.e. bent forward at the hips like you are riding a bike). Bib braces should feel snug across the shoulders when standing upright, yet comfortable in a tuck position. Also, most windproof jackets for instance, are cut larger than long sleeve jerseys, and designed to be worn with one base layer underneath.
A note on terminology:
At Cento, we attempt to describe all jerseys we stock in the following three fits:
- Fitted, or Race Cut - narrow chest and designed to really contour one’s body without restricting movement. Think Pro cycling team jerseys, often with Raglan sleeves and full zippers. Most customers searching in this category are fit cycling enthusiasts or racers.
- Semi-fitted - These jerseys are much like the race cuts, but with a little more room in the chest. They are often popular with mountain bikers who require more movement in the shoulders and torso of the fabric while moving their handlebars through dynamic terrain.
- Relaxed fit, or Club Cut - designed for cyclists either needing or wanting a wider and fuller cut.
