The Combination Points leader classification was an exciting part of the Tour, run from 1968 to 1989. For every category (GC, Climber, Sprinter) points were given to riders as they crossed the line - 1 point to first, 2 to second and so on. At the end of the Tour, the rider with the lowest total was awarded this jersey to represent the best all-rounder. The look was most iconic, perhaps, in 1985 when Greg Lemond wore the jersey as part of the legendary La Vie Claire squad. This competition could help recognize the riders who work so very hard for the eventual GC winners (see Wout Van Aert) but do not end up with a moment on the podium. Regardless, the look was undeniably eye-catching. Cotton cycling cap. Perfect on the hottest summer days to shield you from sun or to wear under your helmet.
